CHARLIE Brooks’ favourite jungle memory must be the moment her daughter rushed into her arms.
Seven-year-old Kiki buried her face in her mum’s shoulder after she won this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
The emotional reunion came after weeks apart from each other and following a cruel twist in a Bushtucker Trial that saw Charlie miss an opportunity to see her daughter during the ITV1 show.
As the EastEnders actress, 31, celebrated being voted Queen of the Jungle, we take a look back at the highs and lows of 2012’s Aussie jungle adventure.
Charlie’s Bushtucker heartache
The show came under fire as viewers accused bosses of being cruel after Kiki missed out on seeing her mum in the Door to Door task.
Contestants had to pick from a line of coloured doors to see if there was a treat behind them. The youngster had been told to wait behind a door and could hear her mum’s voice.
But she was left heartbroken when Charlie picked the wrong door to reveal a sign saying “game over”.
Charlie was also distraught after later finding out her little girl was so close.
And viewers took to only forums to vent their anger at the stunt. One user wrote: “Absolutely shocking giving that poor child hopes of seeing her mum. ITV should hang their heads in shame.”
Brian Conley’s exit
I’m A Celeb chiefs had already faced fury over the collapse of Brian Conley.
They were accused of failing in their duty of care after the singer was taken to hospital.
His shocked wife demanded to know why telly chiefs had left him in the jungle for so long.
The 51-year-old later blamed malnutrition and exhaustion for his exit.
He also said of his time in the camp: “I can tell you it’s not fluffy out there, it’s the real world. And it’s tough, it’s very tough.”
Helen Flanagan’s jungle showers…
Former Corrie babe Helen had made sure to pack three different bikinis for her I’m A Celeb stint – and showed them all off in her jungle showers.
The actress, 22, peeled off numerous times to reveal her curves in a red, a white and a blue two-piece.
She even admitted she had done yoga to get in shape for the cameras.
…and her Bushtucker Trials
Helen failed five Bushtucker Trials — making her very unpopular with campmates — before finally overcoming her fear of creepy-crawlies to win a meal for the contestants.
She had got a tongue-lashing from campmates after failing her fifth trial. But she went on to excel in the sixth to get 12 stars despite facing cockroaches, lizards, scorpions and spiders.
Nadine Dorries furore
The MP, 55, faced huge criticism for taking time off from Parliament to appear on the ITV show. She was suspended by the Tory Party and was blasted over ditching the needs of her constituents.
But Dorries hit back, saying she wanted to use the show to reach out to voters.
And the voters responded — by making her the first contestant to get the boot.
Rosemary Shrager in the bath
Viewers will probably mostly remember telly chef Rosemary for her challenge in the bath.
The 61-year-old donned a blue bathing suit as she enjoyed a soak while Hugo was suspended in a harness.
She had to lather up to get to a clue hidden in the soap before Hugo could unlock the Dingo Dollars.
But it seems the task was too much for the show audience — who promptly voted her out.
Fish guts challenge
A much less pleasant trial was one faced by Charlie Brooks and Ashley Roberts.
The pair were chosen for an eye-watering challenge that saw former Pussycat Doll Ashley dunked into fish guts.
The singer had to answer questions so campmate Charlie could collect stars.
But Ashley failed at the first hurdle — and earned herself a stinky bath for her efforts.
David Haye’s cheeky rub-down
The former boxing champ got a lathering of sun cream from Ashley Roberts.
The bikini-clad beauty looked to be having a great time smearing the lotion on to Haye’s bottom during a stress-busting massage session.
Pussycat Dolls dance routine challenge
As part of a meddling challenge, Ashley was told to teach the campmates the dance routine from the video to Pussycat Dolls song Don’t Cha.
Together with Hugo Taylor and David Haye she fibbed to campmates that if they wanted any dinner they must all agree to learn the moves.
And the trio even got grumpy Eric Bristow to play along.
